2012 Award Categories

  • All products and services must be in existence during the period 1/3/11 and 13/5/12. New products and services will be accepted so long as they are launched prior to the closing date for submissions of 30th March 2012.
  • Best International Life Group (targetting UK): Open to life groups that specifically target the UK through the advisory channel. In judging, the panel will take into account growth of the business, range of products, support to target markets, level of service, training, technology, recent product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best International Life Group: Open to life groups that provide products and services to those living and working abroad via advisers and brokers. In judging, the panel will take into account growth of the business, range of products, support to target markets, level of service, training, technology, recent product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best International Life Product: Open to life groups that provide products and services to those living and working abroad via advisers and brokers. There is no restriction on the type of product entered. Regular and single premium life products are eligible, as are bond, trust, tax, pension or investment-orientated life products. In judging the panel will take into account reason why product was launched, target market, product benefits, recent enhancements.

  • Best International Private Health Care Group: This award is for private health groups that provide international health insurance, via advisers and brokers, to those living and working abroad. In judging, the panel will take into account growth of the business, range of products, support to target markets, level of service, training, technology, recent product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best Expatriate Bank: This award is open to banks that provide services to expatriates. In judging, the panel will take into account the range of current, deposit and savings products available, minimum entry levels, currencies options. Plus related financial services.
  • Best International Wealth Manager: This award is open to banks and wealth management boutiques that offer wealth management services. In judging, the panel will take into account growth of the business, distribution model, range of products, support to target markets, level of service, training, technology, recent product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best International Structured Products Provider: Open to structured product providers that distribute on an international basis. In judging, the panel will take into account business growth, product range, support to target market, attitude to risk, product education, product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best International Pension Provider: Open to providers of SIPPS, QROPS, QNUPS and specialist international pension vehicles. In judging, the panel will take into account business growth, product range, support to target market, product education, product enhancements, involvement at industry level.
  • Best International Fund Group: Open to fund groups who are domiciled offshore and target the UK. Fund groups will be subject to an initial performance check by Morningstar. See Methodology for further information of criteria. Only those groups that pass the performance check will progress to the shortlist stage.
  • Best International Finance Centre: Open to international finance centres. In judging the panel will take into account business sector growth, support services, enabling legislation, involvement at local and international level, future growth prospects.
  • Best International Finance Centre for Funds: Open to international finance centres. In judging, the panel will take account growth of the fund industry, fund structures, quality of fund providers, administration and support services, regulatory environment, industry involvement.
  • Best International Finance Centre for Trusts & Fiduciary: Open to international finance centres. In judging, the panel will take into account growth of the sector, corporate and trust structures, enabling legislation, regulatory environment, industry involvement.
  • Best Service Initiative: Open to all international financial service providers launching a service initiative or enhancing a service between 1/1/11 and 30/3/12. In judging, the panel will be looking for a service launch or enhancement that can best demonstrate evidence of vastly improving the service provided to advisers.

Who Can Enter?

The following groups will be accepted:

- International division of a UK-based life, bank, fund, structured product or private health group based either in the UK or offshore.
- Groups based in financial centres, such as the Isle of Man, Dublin, Jersey, Guernsey or Luxembourg are also eligible.

As a rule of thumb, the awards are aimed at UK companies that distribute financial products and services primarily through independent financial advisers.

There is no restriction on the number of Awards you can enter.

The judges have the discretion to decide eligibility to the awards.

What is the judging period for products and services?

Products and services entered must be in existence during the period 1 May 2011 and 13 May 2012. New products launched prior to the closing date for completed questionnaires of 30 March 2012
